Suru runs an MCP server at https://suru.cc/mcp. Connect it to an assistant and you can find drafts, write new ones and run an integrity check without leaving the chat. Publishing always stays in Suru.

How do I connect Suru to Claude?

1. Claude → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. 2. Paste https://suru.cc/mcp and save. 3. Click Connect, sign in to Suru and approve access. Leave the client ID blank — Suru registers Claude automatically.

Can I use Suru with ChatGPT?

It depends on your plan. Free, Go and Plus cannot add custom MCP connectors. Pro can connect but is read/fetch only today. Business, Enterprise and Edu get full MCP, including Suru's write actions.

What about Codex?

Codex — the desktop app, the CLI and the IDE extension — connects directly to remote MCP servers. Add an MCP server of type "http" pointing at https://suru.cc/mcp, then complete the sign-in prompt in your browser. It is its own route, not a ChatGPT plan.

What can the assistant actually do?

Six things: find your drafts, open one draft, create a draft in your publication, update an existing draft, draft from a transcript or notes, and run an integrity check. It can never publish, never read a published story, and never see another publisher's work.

Where do drafts written in an assistant end up?

In your own publication, unpublished, ready to edit in Suru. The assistant returns a link straight to the editor.

Does a custom domain change the MCP setup?

No. The server URL is always https://suru.cc/mcp, whatever address your publication uses.

Does assistant drafting use my allowance?

Yes — drafting through an assistant counts towards your monthly story and draft allowance exactly as it does inside Suru.
