How a story goes from a voice note in the field to an editable draft in your publication.
Open Capture, tap the microphone and talk through what you're seeing. Add photos or video from your camera, or type notes instead. Suru transcribes the audio, keeps your location, and assembles a draft news story you can edit line by line.
Long-form recordings are supported — voice notes upload straight to storage, up to 300 MB per file. If a recording fails to upload, check your connection and try again; the file is kept until the upload finishes.
It adds new material to an existing draft rather than replacing it. Record or upload more audio, then choose Extend draft — Suru merges the new transcript with what's already there and redrafts around it.
Always. Headline, subheadline, dateline and body are fully editable. The draft is a starting point, never the final word.
In the story editor, type / on an empty line, or click the + button in the toolbar. Pick Subheading, Small subheading, Pull quote, Divider, Photo or Follow card. For a pull quote, add a second line starting with — and the speaker's name to credit them. If you place your own pull quote, Suru's automatic ones are left out of that story. Photos can also be dragged or pasted straight into the text, with a caption underneath. Every story ends with a quiet follow card for readers who don't follow you yet; untick "Show a follow card" under the editor to turn it off, or use / Follow card to place it mid-story instead. Right-click also offers bold, italic, links, subheadings and pull quotes.
Not yet — full multilingual publishing is still being built. Suru already understands a recording that mixes languages and drafts in the language you choose, so an Italian conversation can come back as an Italian article. A translated version of a story, with a language switcher for readers, is on the way.
Audio, photos and video. Video is transcribed automatically and hosted by Suru — no YouTube dependency.
