Yes. Readers create a free account on your publication to react and comment. During signup they see a default-on checkbox — 'Email me new stories from this publication. You can turn this off any time.' — which controls email updates, and they can change it later. Reader accounts are branded to your publication, not to Suru.
Yes. A reader can tap 'Start your own publication' from their Account page at any time. Suru upgrades the account to a reporter, starts the publisher onboarding, and keeps any follows, comments or memberships already on the account.
A Suru-authenticated address built from your publication name, shown in Settings → Publication → Email identity. It isn't editable, so deliverability stays reliable.
To your own inbox, once you switch it on. 1. Settings → Publication → Email identity. 2. Enter your inbox and tap Send code. 3. Enter the code — the identity saves itself and replies route there. Reader replies are off until you do this.
Yes. Any inbox you can receive a code at works — it doesn't have to be on your own domain.
